Shenanigans up in here! Josh Can’t seem to keep up with my crazy antiques!

I needed to use jewelry glue and asked the hubs if he had a mask because I didn’t want to breathe in all the fumes. He replied ” yes, but I don’t think your gonna like it” I replied ” Sure I will!”

I honestly didn’t care, I was just happy to not be breathing in horrible glue smells!

Here are some of the things I’ve been making. I LOVE making these wrap bracelets! I’m hoping to open an Etsy shop soon! Annnnnnnnd I can’t wait to reveal my BIG Surprise! almost everything has gone through! Maybe tomorrow? Maybe the weekend? I will be sharing it soon! I hate when I have to wait for other people’s surprised and announcements because I’m so impatient, and now I’m doing it to you! so I’m sorry, but it’s a good one!

Here is a lovely head piece I saw on freepeople.com but I’m far too poor for free people. I just gaze at all their wonderful pieces and try to recreate them!

So I saw a cute headpiece and just crocheted my own! I’m in love!

Now you probably think wearing crocheted head pieces and things is crazy since it’s summer. Well, I live on the CENTRAL coast of california and the summer time here is in the 70′s. Yes. Cold. So crocheted things are popular year round in these parts. One of the MAJOR things I had to get used to moving from Southern Cali to Central Cali when I got married was the weather. I’m not sure I’ve fully adjusted after all these years but it’s beauty makes up for lack of warmth!

Enough rambling!

QUESTION: Anyone have any fun plans for the 4TH? Josh and I are going to a 4th of July parade in the morning over in the Valley with family and friends where it will be in he 80′s then we are free birds to do whatever we want! maybe beach and the firework show here in town. Enjoy your day off!!!!

Hi! Anyone out there?!

I know, it’s been a while. With VERY VERY good reason. I can’t stand being secretive & all, but sometimes secrets are just necessary! I PROMISE to tell you ALL the details once everything goes through! Man, I’m just bursting with excitement to tell ya!

Ok, enough torture for the evening.

I bring to you a craft. Of course!

I made this flower out of yarn and it was pretty darn cute! I’ve been meaning to show you all sooner seeing that I did it for mother’s day. Wow! Better late then neva!

What you will need :

Yarn

Hot glue gun

fake flower and scissors.

Hot glue around stem of fake flower while you continuously wrap your yarn to the tippy top!

I would have kept going with the yarn all the way to the top so the flower would have looked more like a rose or lilly but ran out of time, so I just left the old petals as they were.

It’s kinda a fun way to give flowers, since they won’t die.

Oodles of doodles I tell ya!!!

Why am I obsessed with all things artsy fartsy? Why can’t I decide on one thing? Why must I try all things crafty/artsy?

I can’t really say. I just love expressing myself I suppose.

Funny story. I decided last saturday I was going to teach my self how to draw, and by golly I was gonna do it!

These are my first 4 pieces of drawing art I’ve ever done. I really love it! I mean I’m only 3 days into this hobby but I love it!.

Now, you will just have to keep me from Michael’s craft store. I’m pretty sure I want to buy out their entire section of Copic Markers. I could only purchase 3 since they are a pretty penny, but SO worth it! If you’ve never heard of them. Check them out here .

Why couldn’t I have been related to someone who owned part of the Michaels franchise? Or even the Copic Markers franchise? I regress.

I have a 40% off coupon coming up for Michael’s and when the cashier handed it to me I said that’s really not good for me. I may lose all my pennies there!

So, ladies and gents! Get creative! Say what? IT’s too late to start new hobbies?! No, no, no! You can start anytime! Dream big my friends, have fun & make some doodles!

The Braided Headband

Oh my! The braided head band!!! I just love it!! What I love more is Ashley! She blogs over at Myshineproject .

Anyway, I watched her little take on the braided headband and knew I had to try it! So fun!

Everyone at church kept asking if it was a headband. That must be a good sign? It looks fake because it’s so nice? Eh ya probably not. Either way fun fun fun!

Hello, hi there!

Where to start, from the top I suppose.

I started out the day with reading my bible as I do every morning and the Lord is REALLY humbling me. I tell ya, the more I empty myself of me the more God can work.

I just need to really move over and let him drive!

I got my purse together for work & worked my little patooty off on only 5 hours of sleep. SShhhhhhh…….. Don’t tell anyone, especially Josh. I stayed up way too late with netflix while crocheting. (party animal over here)

I had the most delicious simple salad for dinner. I’m finding simple in life is best in life, just not in my wardrobe, I like crazy!

I then made a HUGE mess trying to pack! I’m going on women’s retreat with my Mom and sister in-law and I can’t wait!

shoulder pads and crocheting. I love all things granny!

Hi there! So the other day I went thrifting! I tweeted and blogged about it and on Friday night I was removing shoulder pads from my granny sweater, because that’s what all cool people do on their Friday nights. Any who, I LOVE all things granny, but I do draw the line at shoulder pads. So here is the precious granny shirt in all her glory. With complimentary braids:)

then I was feeling a little or a lot inspired to crochet some head bands! You all know I love bobwilson123 from youtube! She’s great and her tutorials are so simple to follow.

So I busted out the goods and went to work! I’m so happy with the end result! I also made a mustard colored one with an adorable bow!

5 things I’m loving right now

1. Pasta Dishes That my Mother gave me. Today’s lunch, kale, arugula topped with fresh tomato’s, spiralized zucchini, raw pasta sauce and shaved goat’s cheese

2. Chocolate Almond Milk.

It may say Raw Goat milk but it’s actually Chocolate Almond milk! Josh and I can’t get enough, and I may be obsessed with using the jar.

3. colorful chalk

I love the colorful chalk we use to write sweet nothings on my vintage chalk board that Josh got me for Christmas.

4. I’m loving decorating my food in my refrigerator to make it look pretty. Such pretty tomato’s

5. Last but not least. I’m LOVING all things yellow. It makes me so happy!

The bouquet of flowers Josh got me for no reason at all except the fact that he loves me makes me really happy too!

Envelope pillow cover tutorial (HERE) LOVE this girl! She’s straight to the point. Just my kind of style.

Pillows!!! I’ve been longing to sew pillow covers over my old crusty pillows for FOREVER!! I finally busted out the good old sewing machine, put on some worship music and went to town! six pillow covers I sewed. I miss matched polka dots and blue fabric with rose material and cut out a heart for one of them. The sky was the limit. The last one I made I squished into the pillow cover because I was running out of fabric. I’m not telling which one it is, but you can tell me your guesses. It shouldn’t be very hard:/

I often find myself drawn to people/ in need of being in other peoples presence ALL the time. Not sure why, maybe just an insecurity of mine. Maybe I’m scared of the alone feeling I’m reminded of when my Dad Died. All I know is I need to work on this aspect of my life and I did, by sewing pillow covers all by MYSELF! I felt renewed refreshed and thankful:) Baby steps:) God is working in my heart in so many ways in 2012 and I hope to grow so much more! If January is any indication then this year will be a lot of growth with a lot of growing pains.

So here are some of the fun projects that have been going on in this household. I’m a crocheting fool I tell ya!! The head bands are to die for! I’ll take some photos wearing them so you can see the full picture:) Their so easy too! I’m already throwing out promises to girls in my church I would make some for them since their such a breeze:)

My Mom and I got together with my bestie( Amanda) and her Mom to do the headbands and flowers and we loved every minute of it!

Now I got my eye on that red yarn for another infinity scarf!
